Where the River Meets the Lake - January 2024 Newsletter

"Winter is not a season, it’s a celebration." Anamika Mishra

The daylight is hanging on bit longer and there is snow on the ground so I'll echo author and blogger Anamika Mishra and say, "Let's celebrate!" Let's celebrate the successful bird count FOLSR organized with coaching from local Audubon Christmas Bird Count veterans. Let's celebrate all that FOLSR did in 2023 and all that we plan to do in 2024 at our upcoming membership meeting. It'll be fun to whoop it up at the upcoming Ice Festival on Barker's Island and to hear the latest information about the St. Louis River at the annual Summit in March. You can read about all these causes for jubilee and more in FOLSR's winter newsletter.

Celebrate with the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve on February 8, 6:30-8:30 pm in the Confluence room of the Estuarium. It is free and all are welcome. I really hope to see you there.

Your Friend,

Sharon
