Everyone Can Bird - Spring Migration

  • Chambers Grove Park (map)

Join us for a free, bird-focused morning! This event is planned in partnership with the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve, Duluth Parks and Recreation, Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, Wisconsin Sea Grant, Embark Supported Employment, Minnesota Land Trust, and the Lake Superior Reserve.

Registration is encouraged but not required. Click here to register!

Hear the birds sing as they return to the north for breeding season! With spring migration already upon us, we can hope to see the first glimpse of a variety of forest birds such as warblers, sparrows, and swallows, and waterbirds such as grebes, mergansers, and more at the beautiful Chambers Grove Park!

American Sign Language interpretation is provided.

We welcome people of all ages, abilities, and disabilities to attend this accessible bird observation event at Chambers Grove (Highway 23 & 137th Avenue West, Duluth, MN). Sit or walk along a packed gravel path throughout the park with expert bird guides to lead discussion and aid observation! See more details about Chambers Grove here on the Duluth Parks & Rec website.

These activities are designed with access in mind, but if you would like to request additional accommodations, please email Luciana.Ranelli@Wisc.Edu or call Luciana at 715-399-4085 at least 10 days before the event. Enjoy free transportation from the Superior Public Library (8:40 a.m.) or Menards in West Duluth (9 a.m.) to Chambers Grove Park!

We have 15 pairs of binoculars for people to use, a spotting scope, a wheelchair mount for binoculars, and portable seating. Also available for use, courtesy of Duluth Parks & Recreation, is a track chair - an all-terrain, electric powered chair that can be used on hiking trails! Light refreshments will be provided. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are also available. On bright sunny days there is limited shade, so please bring sun protection.

Come and stay for the whole time, or meet up with or leave the group when you need. Please bring what you need to be comfortable (suggestions include water, crucial snacks, sun protection, and a portable chair).
