Where the River Meets the Lake - Fall 2025 Newsletter
Though the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve is a rather small non-profit, we harbor enormous gratitude. Our gratitude list includes:
FOLSR volunteers removed 363 lbs of garbage and 139 lbs of invasive spotted knapweed from Wisconsin Point since April,
FOLSR-supported birding events attracted 224 participants and logged 61 species since the 2024 Christmas Bird Count,
Over 100 people from Wisconsin and Minnesota signed a letter delivered to Congress supporting the NOAA National Estuarine Research Reserve System through a period of uncertainty,
An anonymous donor pledged up to $1,000 for a donation match challenge,
AmeriCorps member, Callie Grones, is willing and able to serve with FOLSR and the Reserve for another year,
YOU. Thank you for taking the time to read our news and for renewing your FOLSR membership (or becoming a member for the first time). Thank you appreciating the St. Louis River Estuary, the Lake Superior Reserve and FOLSR.
Read about these sources of gratitude and more below. Wishing you many opportunities to enjoy this beautiful season.
Your Friend,
Sharon, FOLSR Board Chair
